Going for tea with a friend is great. Going for tea with an equally broke friend is even better. Finding a nice spot that offers lovely bits at affordable prices is not an easy feat in Dublin city but I think I might have just done it.

My friend Kate and I had scheduled a session of tea and catch up and after a quick browse on my Instagram list of places to try we headed to "Hanger Management", a no-nonse small Café & Deli situated on Kevin Street Lower. At first sight their counter and deli might look a bit sparse but do not let them fool you, this ladies came up with four different kinds of bagels and they have the most amazing peanut chocolate tart I have ever had the pleasure to try.

Kate has a sweet tooth and she went straight for tea and the afore mentioned chocolate peanut pastry but I had entered what wonderful stage of hunger where everything looks delicious and the brain has zero power to make decisions. After the staff ladies very joyfully shared their recommendations I decided to try my first ever bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon and a lemonade. It was generously stuffed and they provided me with a cooled glass for my can so life was good today.
We were both happily pleased, none of us paid more than 6€ and the food was tasty and fulfilling. As much as it is nice to splurge from time to time on fancy overpriced pastry it is a relief to find places where the service is kind, the food is nice and the wallet is not empty afterwards.
*Sadly my camera has seen better days and was far from being right as rain today. On the bright side, that means another visit is in order to capture images.
